New rules
9/24/2010 1
Please ensure you are all aware of the following ETTA rule changes that come into effect this season :-

1 A racket cannot be changed during the course of an individual match, unless it becomes accidentally damaged so badly that it is unusable.
An "individual match", in this context, is the "best of five" games between two individuals.

2 A point is not scored against a player for an accidental double hit. An accidental double hit, such as the ball touching the racket and the racket hand, can be ignored.

3 The expedite system cannot be introduced in a game, if the total of points scored is at least 18.

Not forgetting ODTTA rule changes this season :-

Old Rule 14:

No trophies awarded to winners of competitions organized by the Association may be taken out of the area controlled by the Association as defined in the Constitution, unless consent be first obtained. All trophies must be returned to the Trophies Secretary as least fourteen days prior to the competition date. District competition trophies must be returned one month before the competition date. Failure to do either will result if a fine*. In the event of any trophies being mislaid, stolen or not returned to the Trophies Secretary, then in any such case the Club whose member won the Trophy shall be responsible for the cost of replacement of the Trophy.

Rule 14 now becomes:

No trophies awarded to winners of competitions organized by the Association may be taken out of the area controlled by the Association as defined in the Constitution, unless consent be first obtained. All trophies must be returned to the Trophies Secretary at least one month before the competition date, or, if the trophies cannot be awarded until after the end of the season, by 31st March. Failure to do so will result in a fine*. In the event of any trophies being mislaid, stolen or not returned to the Trophies Secretary, then in any such case the Club whose member won the Trophy shall be responsible for the cost of replacement of the Trophy.

Old league Rule 3b.

Players having made three or more appearances for any one team shall not be eligible to play for a lower team without a transfer being granted by the committee. They may, however, play twice in each of the higher teams in the same club but on a third appearance shall be deemed to have been promoted to that position. A third appearance shall not take place in the last four matches of the season. In addition they may play twice for any other team of their club in the same division, not more than one substitute to play in a team in any one match.

Rule 3b now becomes:

Players having made three or more appearances for any one team shall not be eligible to play for a lower team without a transfer being granted by the committee. They may, however, play twice in each of the higher teams in the same club but on a third appearance shall be deemed to have been promoted to that position. A third appearance shall not take place in the last four matches of the season. Teams may not field more than one substitute in any one match. Players will only be eligible to play for a higher team in the same club providing that that team is in a higher division; ie players cannot play for another team of the same club, if the two teams are in the same division; this applies to all but the lowest division of the league.
