A message from John Birkin
Dear Oxford League Players ,
Please have a look at all the information at :
This is a large project, backed by a very substantial grant of Lottery money, bringing inter alia 16 new tables into Oxford Table Tennis. The launch is at Bury Knowle Park, Headington, at midday on Saturday. Among others, Kidlington Forum's Aubrey Hughes and John Duncalfe will be in attendance. I've seen the film "Ping Pong" and can thoroughly recommend it.
The city council are planning a range of events around the tables throughout the month, so if any of you would like to go down and do a demo and encourage people to play, then please inform Margaret Stevens, who is the School Sports Development Officer for the City Council and also the Chairman of the Oxford Sports Council. She is the leading the Ping Project for the City Council and would be delighted to hear from you at:
She will then promote the date, time and which table you will be at.
Alternatively contact Karl Bushell at:
or me, and we will pass it on and do any necessary co-ordinating.
I am in the process of producing a leaflet to be distributed and included on the Ping web-site. This gives details of local clubs and the possibilities for new players to pursue their interest after and beyond Ping. This will appear by Friday and I will send you a copy.
